The MR-964616 is a top-entry 8P8C modular jack, the connector generally known as RJ45, for mounting on a printed circuit board.
Top entry means the mating plug enters from above the board rather than across the board edge. That suits designs where the port faces the top face of the enclosure, and designs where the board edge is already committed to other connectors.
8P8C jacks carry Ethernet and structured-cabling connections in networking hardware, industrial controls, telecom equipment, access control and building systems.
This variant is supplied with a shielded body.
