Barrier Terminal Blocks

Barrier terminal blocks are screw terminal strips with a moulded barrier standing between one terminal and the next, so a stray strand or a slipped screwdriver cannot bridge two circuits. Micro-Ray lists 189 barrier blocks from Dinkle and Micro-Ray for panel, chassis and enclosure wiring, in six mounting styles. Please call for pricing and availability.

What is in this range

• Single Row – 113 parts. The standard strip, two to twenty-four poles, screw terminals on both faces.
• Panel Feed-Through – 26 parts. Mounted through a panel wall so wiring passes from one side of an enclosure to the other without a gland.
• Wire Terminal – 22 parts. Blocks supplied with the wire-clamp pressure plate already fitted, for direct conductor entry without a crimp terminal.
• Bi-level – 12 parts. Two tiers in one footprint, which roughly halves the rail or panel length a circuit count needs.
• Pluggable – 11 parts. A removable header so a loom can be unplugged as one piece for service, with the field wiring left undisturbed.
• Panel Mounting – 5 parts. Flange or foot mounted bodies for bolting flat to a chassis.

Barrier, DIN rail or push-in

• A barrier block suits wiring that is inspected, re-tapped or changed by hand – each screw stays visible and reachable, and a ring or fork terminal lands flat under it.
• A DIN rail block suits density and bridging; see the DIN Rail Terminal Blocks range for screw, push-in and spring clamp types.
• Current and wire range are what size the block. Both are on each part drawing and we confirm them at quotation rather than reading across from a similar part number.
• Pole count – strips are cut to standard pole counts, so pick the next size up and leave the spare poles as spares rather than cutting a strip down.

Marking, accessories and quoting

Marker strips, jumper bars and terminal covers are quoted with the blocks where the family offers them. Tell us the pole count, the conductor size, the current you are carrying and whether the block mounts on a panel, through a panel or on rail, and we will quote from the families above.
