USB Type-C is the reversible 24-position interface now standard across current-generation equipment, carrying data, video and power delivery through a single connector that mates in either orientation. For new equipment design it has largely displaced the earlier USB A, B and micro variants, and it is increasingly what a customer expects to find on the outside of a product.
