General Purpose

Techflex general purpose sleeving – the everyday sleeving used to bundle, route and protect wire and cable. Micro-Ray is an authorized Techflex distributor; all twelve general purpose families are listed here under Techflex’s own part numbers.

The families

• Flexo PET – the original braided PET sleeving, 1/16 in to 3 in. The colour range is set per size: two colours in 1/16 in, sixty-two in 1/2 in. Each product page lists only the colours Techflex makes in that size.
• Flexo PET Plus – Flexo PET with a fray-resistant resin coating so it cuts with ordinary scissors.
• Clean Cut – cuts with scissors and holds a frayless end without binders or adhesives.
• Flexo Tight Weave – tighter braid for greater coverage and abrasion resistance.
• Flexo Overexpanded – expands to nearly four times nominal, for fast bundling over large connectors.
• Flexo reMix – PET monofilament in mixed colour combinations.
• Flexo F6 – split semi-rigid braid that wraps around an existing harness and closes itself.
• F6 Woven Wrap – woven version of F6 with greater elastic flexibility and abrasion resistance.
• F360 – non-split triaxial braided conduit, a full 360 degree enclosure.
• Flexo Wrap – expandable open weave with a colour matched hook and loop closure.
• VersaWraptor – woven polyester with industrial strength hook and loop, 1 in to 8 in.
• GripWrap – wrap-around sleeving with a hook sealing system, no open end needed.

Cutting and installing

Cut with a hot knife so the braid seals as it is cut; a cold cut frays. Slide the sleeving over the bundle while it is compressed, then let it relax onto the cable. Finish the ends with heat-shrink or tape where the assembly is handled. Clean Cut, PET Plus and the wrap products can be cut with scissors.
