A butt connector joins two wires end to end in line. A parallel connector takes two wires running the same way, side by side. Close end connectors cap and join wire ends inside a closed insulated barrel.
Heat-shrink butt connectors have an adhesive-lined sleeve that melts and seals as you heat it, so the joint keeps water out — the right choice for anything outdoors, in a bilge, under a vehicle or buried in a loom that may get wet.
